Creamy oats and chia combined with fresh strawberries make a great nutritious start to your morning.

# What You Need:

03 - 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt for dairy-free
04 - 2 tablespoons chia seeds
05 - 2 teaspoons honey or pure maple syrup
06 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

07 - 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

→ Toppings

08 - 2 tablespoons chopped nuts such as almonds or walnuts
09 - 1 tablespoon unsweetened coconut flakes
10 - Extra sliced strawberries

# Directions:

01 - In a medium bowl or jar, combine rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir well to ensure even distribution of all ingredients.
02 - Gently fold in the sliced strawberries into the oat mixture, distributing them evenly throughout.
03 - Cover the bowl or jar and refrigerate overnight for at least 6 hours to allow the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and soften completely.
04 - In the morning, stir the oats thoroughly. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of milk to reach your desired consistency.
05 - Spoon the prepared oats into bowls or jars. Top with additional strawberries, nuts, and coconut flakes as desired. Serve chilled.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • You literally just stir and forget, which means breakfast shows up on its own schedule, not yours.
  • It tastes indulgent but actually packs protein and fiber that keeps you full for hours.
  • No cooking means no morning kitchen chaos, just grab a spoon and go.
02 -
  • Don't slice your strawberries the morning of if you can help it, because they start releasing liquid and the whole bowl turns pale pink by lunchtime.
  • If you use sweetened yogurt or milk, cut back on the honey or skip it entirely, or you'll end up with breakfast that tastes like dessert pretending to be virtuous.
03 -
  • Use a tall glass jar instead of a bowl so you can see the beautiful layers and grab it straight from the fridge on your way out the door.
  • If you forget and your oats sit for more than three days, they're still fine to eat but the texture gets mushier, so plan accordingly or freeze extras.
